| OneCoast Launches Special Buys Website | | Independent Retailers Now Enjoy Savings of Big Retailers | OneCoast, the largest and only national provider of sales and marketing services to suppliers and retailers of home décor, gift and collegiate products, has launched Special Buys, the only online shopping destination which enables independent retailers to purchase discounted gift and home décor products from top manufacturers.
The online shopping site, located at www.onecoast.com, allows retailers to immediately buy special products from dozens of suppliers that are in limited quantity or have been discounted. Many of the products were previously only available to national discount chains.
“All manufacturers have excess product,” said Jeremy Hirsch, VP of Marketing, OneCoast. “But our industry has not done a good job, in general, of offering independent retailers these excess products at compelling prices. We believe this site will go a long way in connecting the manufacturers and their excess products with savvy retailers who are looking to boost their margins and create more opportunities to bring customers into their stores.”
Special Buys offers thousands of products from dozens of suppliers, including Cape Craftsmen, Mud Pie, Toyo Trading Company, Zodax, and SIA. New suppliers and products are added frequently. “We think it is great to offer ‘special buys’ of our excess products to independent retailers who are the core of our business,” said Joe Cloherty, National Sales Manager, Cape Craftsmen. “Any time we can help retailers achieve higher margins is fantastic.”
Mary Liz Curtin, an internationally-recognized speaker and writer as well as the owner of the retail store Leon and Lulu, is a big believer in using close-outs to drive sales and increase store profits. “Manufacturers are constantly renewing their lines, and this has resulted in a tremendous amount of viable excess product available at great prices. This often includes excellent merchandise that continues to perform well at full retail.” Ms. Curtin adds, “this is product that we sell at a high mark up every day and then at a deep discount when we have a sale, with strong margins even at the marked-down prices.”
Beyond the benefit of higher margins, retailers can also enjoy the luxury of purchasing these products in smaller quantities than a standard order, and can they can try products from vendors they normally don’t carry.
The Special Buys website is available to the wholesale trade only; retailers and designers need to register before seeing prices and placing orders. . Retailers can pay by credit card or with existing terms for suppliers with whom they currently do business.
